Sayre man jailed on drug charges

Athens Township Police have charged William Christopher Sutton III, 34, of Sayre with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident that occurred at 4:14 a.m. on July 9 at a residence on Wilawana Road in Athens Township.

According to police, they were clearing a residence on Wilawana Road to assure that Sutton was not on the property as the caller was granted a protection from abuse against him. While searching the residence, police located a “gravity bong” in the garage. Also found in the garage were a glass “water bong,” a glass smoking pipe with burnt residue, and an unlabeled pill bottle which smelled strongly of marijuana. The residue in the “bongs” field tested positive for THC.

Sutton was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw and was remanded to the Bradford County Correctional Facility in lieu of $30,000 bail. He is slated to appear before Shaw on July 25 for his preliminary hearing, court documents show.

N.Y. man threatens Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital staff

Sayre Borough Police charged Brandon Michael Roe, 29, of Big Flats, N.Y. with a first degree misdemeanor making terroristic threats with intent to terrorize others that stems from an incident that took place at 12:23 a.m. on July 11 at the Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre Borough.

Police state that Roe called the hospital stating that the hospital killed his mother and now he was “60 feet up in a tree with his rifle.” He told the hospital staff that their days were numbered and their time was coming. He added that he was going to kill hospital officials when they exit the building.

He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw and was released on a $5 unsecured bail. Roe is scheduled to appear before Shaw on July 25 for his preliminary hearing, according to court documents.

DUI charge

Sayre Borough Police have charged Michelle Lea Brown, 33, of Columbia Cross Roads with driving under the influence following a two vehicle motor vehicle accident that occurred at 8:56 p.m. on July 7 on North Elmer Avenue in Sayre Borough.

Brown stated that she was driving north and an oncoming vehicle was coming at her. At that time she struck a legally parked vehicle. While speaking with Brown, police state that she was very uneasy and kept slurring her speech. She was also unable to elicit a reason for being in Sayre as she lives in Columbia Cross Roads. She then performed a series of standardized field sobriety tests which she failed to complete. A witness related that she witnessed Brown passed out and slumped over her wheel at the South Elmer Avenue Dandy Mini Mart prior to her leaving and striking the parked vehicle, according to police.

Brown was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw and was sent to the Bradford County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail. She is slated to appear before Shaw on July 18 for her preliminary hearing, court documents show.

Woman smashes TV, assaults employees

Sayre Borough Police charged Jessica Weber, 19, of Sayre with simple assault, criminal mischief and harassment following an incident that occurred at 3:30 p.m. on July 12 at a group home on North Elmer Avenue in Sayre Borough.

According to police, a staff member stated that Weber grabbed a TV and threw it onto the floor. At that time, the staff member tried to calm Weber down and she proceeded to kick him and started swinging at him. The manager of the home stated that while attempting to calm Weber down, she said she was going to get a gun and kill all of the staff and everyone in the house. Weber then began inflicting self harm.

She was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw and was remanded to the Bradford County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000. She is scheduled to appear before Shaw on July 18 for her preliminary hearing, according to court documents.
