Bradford County court news, July 16, 2017

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett reported the following resolutions of criminal cases in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Sentenced

Gregory Glover, 52, Ohio, was resentenced to Probation Supervision for a term of six months, fines of $300.00, plus court costs, for the offenses of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Trooper David Sweeney of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Glover following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Borough on Sept. 24, 2017.

Connie Neely, 48, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to Probation Supervision for a term of six months, fines of $150.00, plus court costs, for the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Officer Brian Wibirt of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Neely for the offense occurring on Oct. 5, 2016.

Lexus Parsons, 25, Sugar Run, Pa., was sentenced to incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 23 days to 12 months, fines of $250.00, restitution of $23,852.40, plus court costs, for the offense of Recklessly Endangering another Person, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Trooper Michael O’Boyle of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Parsons following investigation of an incident that occurred in Sheshequin Township on June 4, 2016.

Katrina Owen, 26, Rome, Pa., was sentenced to incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 72 hours to six months, fines of $1,000.00, plus court costs, she will also lose her driver’s license for 12 months, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Trooper Jacob Burgess of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Owen following investigation of an incident that occurred in Rome Borough on Jan. 11, 2017.

David Benjamin, 55, of Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 30 days to six months, fines of $1,000.00; he will also lose his driving license for 12 months, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Trooper Taylor Smith of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Benjamin following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wysox Township on Jan. 12, 2017.

Edwin Keagle, 21, of Sayre, Pa., was sentenced to incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 45 days (flat), followed by County Intermediate Punishment for 24 months; County Intermediate Punishment involves a combination of restrictions and supervision. It may include home confinement, electronic monitor, and substance abuse treatment. Violations can result in incarceration. It will be followed by Probation and fines of $1,750.00, for the offense of Corruption of Minors, a misdemeanor of the first degree and Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, misdemeanor of the first degree. Officers Nikki Hoffman of the Sayre Borough Police Department and Derek Dekar of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Keagle for the offenses occurring on November 2016 and September 2016.

Casey Bonardi, 20, of New Albany, Pa., was sentenced to incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 72 hours to six months, fines of $1,650.00, plus court costs, for the offenses of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor and Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, also a misdemeanor. Troopers Justin Landsiedel and George Jones both of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Bonardi following investigation of incidents that occurred in Wyalusing Township in April 2016 and New Albany Borough in November 2016.

John Danovsky, 42, of Carlisle, Pa., was sentenced to Probation Supervision for a term of 12 months, fines of $150.00, plus court costs, for the offense of Unlawful Restraint, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Officer Ralph Dooley of the Troy Borough Police Department arrested Danovsky for the offense occurring on May 2016.

John Banfield, 47, Troy, Pa., was sentenced to Probation Supervision for a term of six months, fines of $250.00, plus court costs, for the offense of Simple Assault, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Trooper Jacob Burgess of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Banfield following investigation of an incident that occurred in Troy Borough in July 2016.

Joshua Mitchell, 29, Sayre, Pa., was sentenced to fines of $500.00, plus court costs, for the offense of Accident Involving Damage to Attended Vehicle, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Officer Daniel Thomas of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Mitchell for the offense occurring in December 2016.

Isaac Alan Clark, 25, of East Smithfield, Pa., was sentenced to incarceration in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility for 21 months to 42 months, fines of $2,250.00, restitution of $2,314.00, for the offenses of Burglary, and Attempted Robbery, both felonies. Trooper Jeffrey Sredenschek of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Clark following investigation of an incident that occurred in Smithfield Township on June 7, 2016.

Guilty Pleas

Steven Allen, 42, Ulster, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Allen will be sentenced on Aug. 3, 2017, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Sergeant David Lantz of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Allen for the offense in December 2016.

Michael Benjamin, 31, Stevensville, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Theft by Unlawful Taking, a misdemeanor of the first degree, and Retail Theft, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Benjamin will be sentenced on Aug. 31, 2017, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer James Condusta of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Benjamin for the offense in July 2016. Trooper Joshua Fisher of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Benjamin following investigation of the incident that occurred in Ulster Township on December 2016.

James Cranmer, 60, Columbia Cross Roads, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Unsworn Falsification to Authorities, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Cranmer will be sentenced on Aug. 31, 2017, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Sergeant Keith Stackhouse of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Cranmer for the offense in July 2016.

Dwayne Colter, 53, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Receiving Stolen Property, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Colter will be sentenced on Aug. 31, 2017, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Jeffrey Grimes of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Colter following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Township in August 2016.

Gregory Glover, 52, Marshall, Texas, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Glover will be sentenced on June 15, 2017, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper David Sweeney of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Glover following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Borough on Sept. 24, 2017.

Shawn Cordona, 42, Binghamton, N.Y., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Retail Theft, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Cordona will be sentenced on a later date. Sergeant Keith Stackhouse of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Cordona for the offense in April 2017.

ARD

Katherine McWain, 46, Warren Center, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, McWain will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, McWain must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and she will lose her Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Officer Ryan Edsell of the Towanda Borough Police Department filed the charges in November 2016 for the offense in Towanda Borough.

Frank Blair Jr., 25, Waverly, N.Y., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of nine months. While on probation, Blair will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Blair must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and he will lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days, and pay restitution of $14,235.28. Officer Thomas VanFleet of the Athens Township Police Department filed the charges on March 4, 2017, for the offense in Athens Township.

Christopher Royce, 21, Waverly, N.Y., charged with the offense of Theft, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of six months. While on probation, Royce will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department. Additionally, Royce must perform 24 hours of community service. Officer Travis Snyder of the Sayre Borough Police Department filed the charges on Nov. 8, 2016 for the offense in Sayre Borough.

Sarah Barone, 28, Elmira Heights, N.Y., charged with the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of six months. While on probation, Barone will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Barone must perform 24 hours of community service. Officer Thomas VanFleet of the Athens Township Police Department filed the charges on Jan. 23, 2017 for the offense in Athens Township.

Nolo Contendere

John Garino, 28, Gillett, Pa., entered pleas of nolo contendere/no contest to Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree and Simple Assault, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Garino will be sentenced on Aug. 31, 2017, following preparation of a pre-sentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. A no-contest plea is entered where the defendant cannot recall the event but will be held guilty and sentenced. Trooper Albert Levanavage of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Garino following investigation of the incident that occurred in South Creek Township in December 2016.
