Monroe Borough Council changes the dates it meets; Council also hires Kepner as secretary/treasurer

The Monroe Borough Council has hired a new secretary/treasurer for the borough and has changed the dates of borough council's monthly meetings to the second Monday of each month, a borough official said.

On March 1, the council hired Lori Kepner to be the borough's part-time secretary/treasurer, said council Vice-President Joan Grenell.

Kepner currently serves as the part-time secretary/treasurer for Towanda Township, and she will continue to serve in that position for Towanda Township, Grenell said.

To accommodate Kepner's work schedule in Towanda Township, the Monroe Borough Council's meetings for 2010 will take place at 7 p.m. on the second Monday of each month, Grenell said.

Until now, the council had met on the first Monday of each month, she said.

Kepner replaces Jennie Ennis, who recently resigned as the Monroe Borough secretary/treasurer.
