Wyalusing's Daly earns milestone in win over Troy

WYALUSING - Alexis Daly pulled down the 500th rebound of her career and netted a game-high 16 points as the Wyalusing Rams rebounded from a tough loss to Towanda on Saturday with a 73-30 win over Troy Tuesday night.

In addition to Daly, the Rams saw Laci Holdren score 13 followed by Arielle Kneller with 12. Also scoring for Wyalusing were Kasey DeVoir and Savannah Schools with seven each, Kayleen Sutton and Veronica Morrison with six each and Mackenzie Martin, Sydney Snyder and Ally DeVoir each with two.

Daly's 500th board came as part of a nine-rebound game to lead the Rams while Kneller pulled down eight. Snyder had six rebounds, Martin had five, Sutton and Schools each had four, Morrison had three, Kasey DeVoir had two and Eberlin pulled down one.

Holdren led the Rams with six steals while Eberlin had three, Martin, Morrison and Daly each had two and Kasey DeVoir, Snyder and Ally DeVoir each had one.

Holdren paced the Rams with two assists while Schools, Ally DeVoir, Eberlin, Daly and Kneller each had one.

Loretta Lenahan led the Trojans with eight points followed by Kelsey Bristol with seven, Rachel Tice with six, Brooke Mattocks with four, Kayla Stephanie with two and Faith Ceely with one.

Wyalusing won the JV game 53-11 as Ally DeVoir led the Rams with 12 points and Keon Copp chipped in with nine. Rachel Rogers led the Trojans with five points.

The Lady Rams will be back in action on Saturday with a key NTL East matchup with the Sayre Redskins, who handed the Rams their only other loss of the season, a 42-30 decision back in the beginning of January. Saturday's contest will also the last home regular season game for the Rams and will be Parent's Night.

Canton 51, Northeast Bradford 48

The Warriors rallied from eight down in the fourth to edge the Panthers in NTL girls' basketball action Tuesday.

The teams were tied at 12 each after one with Northeast taking a 21-19 lead at the half. The Panthers extended that lead to 38-30 going into the fourth quarter but a 21 point fourth quarter by Canton gave them the win.

Becca Machmer led the Warriors with 19 points, four boards and three steals while Kaitlin Meyer added 13 points.

Rachel Holmes had six points and nine boards for Canton with Sarah Bly added six points and five boards. Chelsea Heatley scored three while Morgan Palmer and Jada Smith had two points each. Smith added seven boards.

Kelsey Carlsen led the Panthers with 13 while Alyssa Coon added nine. Maddy Johnson and Calla Martin had eight points each, Haylie Phillips netted six while McKaylah Holbert added four.

Canton won the JV game 32-29. Makenzy Route led Canton with 15 while Coon added eight for the Panthers.

Canton is at Troy Thursday.

Towanda 62, Mansfield 27

The Black Knights broke open a close game with a 32-10 run in the second half to pick up an NTL cross-over girls' basketball game Tuesday.

Darien Lantz led Towanda with 20 points, six assists, six steals and four boards while Ashley Fleming had 14 points.

Alaina Wickwire added 13 points with four boards and four steals, Alysha Grimes added six points, four boards and two assists and Michelle Aronson had five points, five assists and five boards.

Kaitlin Hallabuk and Paige Vanderpool had two points each for the Knights.

Jackie Hillson led Mansfield with 11 points while Maddie York added five. Emily James had four, Molly Wood scored three while Felicia Bolt and Erin Dempsey had two points a piece.

Towanda won the JV game 39-17. Hallabuk led the Knights with 10 while Alliesha Koss and Wickwire added eight each.

Williamson 56, Liberty 35

Lori Horton had another 20-20 game as the Warriors inched close to a District IV playoff berth Tuesday.

With a 10-9 lead after one Williamson out scored Liberty 14-3 to take a 24-12 halftime advantage. The Mountaineers hung in there in the third quarter scoring 18 points but Williamson held them to five in the fourth to secure the win.

Horton had 24 points, 23 boards and three blocks while Cheyenne Jones added 10 points for Williamson. Kim Daugherty had 10 points, four assists and four steals while Nikki Hurler had six points and five boards. McKenna Greenwalt rounded out the Williamson scoring with six.

Brooke Scott-Knecht led Liberty with 20 points while Kelsey Harer had eight. Ashley Graham added four, Megan Hawk scored two while Brittany Bickhart netted one.

Wellsboro 47, Galeton 38

A 15-4 second quarter run was the difference for the Hornets in NTL West girls' basketball action Tuesday.

Galeton led 11-10 after the first quarter but Wellsboro spurted ahead for a 25-15 lead at the break. Galeton out scored the Hornets 23-22 the rest of the way.

Mackenzie Marple had 12 points and four blocks to lead the Hornets while MiKayla Palmer-Bacon added nine and Raina Rogers netted eight. Taylor Acorn, Hannah Zuchowski, Kiana Acorn and Andrea Dean had four points each while Kim Acorn scored two.

Latascia Shadle led the Tigers with 13 while Andi Leach scored 10. Mataya McPherson netted seven, McKayla Cochran had six while Shaleigh Proctor added two.

Cowanesque Valley 62, North Penn 21

The Indians jumped out to a 23-3 first quarter lead in their NTL West girls' basketball win Tuesday.

Stephanie Painter led CV with 24 points while Mikayla Andrews added 11. Carley Murdock and Renee Farman had 10 points each, Blair Williams added four while Courtney Baker netted three.

Chelsea Moran led North Penn with eight points while Mariah Berguson, Kaitlin Gavverick, Rebecca Toothaker, Whitney Holdren, Meredith Kline and Kirsten Berguson had two points each. Kelsey Ridinski added one for the Panthers.

North Penn won the JV game 31-27.

The Panthers host Galeton Thursday while CV is at Wellsboro.

St. John Neumann 43, Sullivan County 30

The Griffins' second half rally came up short in Heartland Conference basketball action Tuesday.

Neumann jumped out to a 26-12 first half lead but Sullivan out scored them 18-17 in the second half.

Addie Jordan led the Griffins with 15 points while Justine McCarty netted six. Alyssa McDonald scored four, Shelby Zeller added three while Meredith Lambert notched two.

Meghan Trenholm led Neumann with 18 while Emily Sholder scored eight.
